愛知県出身。高校卒業後に単身渡米し、語学学校などを経てテキサス大学オースティン校でジャーナリズム学士号を取得。
在学中に英紙インデペンデント、米CBSニュース／マーケットウォッチ、 米紙オースティン・アメリカン・ステーツマンでインターンシップを経験。卒業後はロイター通信（現トムソン・ロイター）に入社し、東京支局でテクノロジー、通信、航空、食品、小売業界などを中心に企業ニュースを担当した。
2010年に退職し、アメリカ人の夫と2人の子供とともに渡米。現在はテキサス州オースティン近郊でフリージャーナリストとしての活動のほか、金融・ビジネス・経済分野の翻訳を手掛けている。主なクライアントは大手証券会社やメディアなど。JTFほんやく検定1級翻訳士（英日翻訳、金融・証券）。
また、仕事と育児・家事に加えて、趣味で米国50州のマラソン制覇を目指している。現在までに13州+DCでフルマラソンを完走した。
夫、子供に加えて、犬2匹、猫3匹の家族とともに暮らしているほか、副業として写真撮影および民泊経営も行なっている。
Sachi Jenkins is a freelance journalist writing both in English and Japanese, specializing in business/financial stories as well as any issues relating to parenting. Her work has appeared on U.S. and Japanese media such as Reuters, WSJ Japan, Newsweek Japan and Weekly Economist magazine.
She moved to the U.S. after graduating a high school in Japan, and studied journalism at the University of Texas at Austin. With internships at the Independent (London), CBS/Market Watch (Tokyo) and the Austin American-Statesman (Austin) under her belt, she joined Reuters upon graduation in 2004 and worked as a corporate news reporter at its Tokyo bureau.
In 2010, she left Reuters and became a freelance writer as she moved back to the U.S. with her family. She has also been working as an English-to-Japanese translator for media and financial institutions, specializing in economic/equities reports and business news translation.
Outside of working and raising two preteen children, she enjoys running with a goal to finish full marathons in all 50 states. Currently she is training for #14.
She lives outside of Austin, Texas with her husband, 2 kids, and 5 furry family members.
As side hustles, she also works as a photographer and operates a vacation rental with her husband.
